The Importance of Authenticity in Film

We didn't set out to make it in Italian. We had a British scriptwriter who wrote all of the scripts in English. But as the process went on and the concern that we had for authenticity, it felt very, very strange making it in English. So we set about finding an Italian co-producer who could partner with us. And so they rather brilliantly helped us achieve it inItalian. There were quite a few challenges along the way, as you can imagine. It was clear that we shared a real sort of taste and ethos with them. The whole thing is in Italian. You're not interrupting because you're not Italian, and yet the whole things are in Italian.
