Is M.S. Ublakshmi a Political Statement?
M.S. Ublakshmi sang my three bhajata at the UN, and I thought that's a very political moment without making an explicit political statement. The words expressed to me so much, and you know, when she sings, dia dia dvam dam mia dha, which means compassion and tolerance and generosity and self-control. In fact, these were the words that also TS Eliot picked up when he began to write his poetry.
