Lake Baikal is over 5,000 feet deep and 25 million years old. It holds up to 20% of our planet's non-frozen fresh water. In 1982, naval divers came upon a small group of what must, at first glance, have looked like humans swimming in the depths. Before anyone knew what was happening, these 10 feet tall humanoids wearing no scuba gear swam even deeper into the icy waters.
