Is the AI Alive?

Life doesn't seem like a good candidate for being a necessary condition on installment because presumably it's not a merely verbal question whether the has a soul. On the other hand you might accept a kind of non reductive more metaphysically inflationary conception of life so a lot of Aristotelians I think have this kind of conception of life, some like vitalists where you know I'm seeing vitalists along the towel that's responsible for the physical functions that we observe and living things. But if that's your view of life you shouldn't be very confident that an AI lacks that either.
