The Road to Serfdom Is a Lazy Slope
Once a state controls one price, it must eventually control all prices in order to catch up with the effects that follow from one selective price control. And as you say, this is the slippery slope hof of of the road to serfdom. For austrian and oliba liberals, the free movement of prices is really the most sacred of all in the market economy. It would basically bewould be undermining freedom as such. But for business groops having prize controls means losing min for profits.
