Bart's Theology, Without Direct Enlightenment
Without direct revelation, we are then left on our own with only witnesses, fallible witnesses, to revelation. This means the christian theologian must always work for, but never arrive at the knowledge of god. On bart's system, god is so distinct, holy other from us that he doesn't even relate to our world and enters into it in an act of self disclosure. So Bart is caught up in a rational, irrational dialectic.
