Complications of Acute Otitis Media

In the pre antibiotic era and in places where we don't use as many antibiotics, you do have an increase in complications of acute otitis media. Most worrisome complications are less because of a prolonged missing of the diagnosis or a prolonged in the treatment. A significant percentage of episodes of mastoiditis that you're going to see or even an intracranial complication is just sort of built in as a role of the dice. And so I need to really shade towards the more aggressive as a baseline diagnosing acute Otitis Media.
