This is the single most common non-traumatic surgical repair of the hand, other than a trigger finger. In my case, I take a little bit of the bone off to create a space and then I roll up the rest of that tendon and put it in there. And that relieves the pain and restores function. So this is a high success operation. Very high success. You could make a case that roughly 5% to 10% of the population will require this at some point in their life.
