Gaining weight and insulin resistance are signs and symptoms that person has a metabolic problem in their body and brain. The kids who gained the most weight around the time of puberty were four times, 400% more likely to be diagnosed with clinical depression by the time they turned 24. So what I'm saying is that insulin resistance and weight play a direct probably causal role in subsequent diagnosis with horrible disabling debilitating mental illness. If you ignore it, your child could end up with a chronic debilitating mental disorder.
