The History of the British Oil Company
British government gained direct control of Iranian oil industry in 1914. This directly led to a coup in 1953 that overthrew Iran's democratically elected governing structure. Shah was also known as the King of Kings to his friends and I guess, doing himself. He would be considered active from September 1941 until February of 1979.
