There was a lot of fear of exploits and liability. The worry was that if we released an exploit and something, no, some one bad used it to hacken somebody else, somehow my companyd become liable. So they wanted to stay as far away from as they possibly could. They didn't want to know that the people they hired for security assessments were also releasing and open sourcing exploit tools in thernet. And i guessed more accurately, they were terrified of ut they did not want to be associated with anthng as working.
