The Poems of the Simurk
The Persian word Simurk, Simurk literally means 30 birds. The goal of their quest turns out not to have been some big powerful bird or something but the innermost core of their own being. In the classic Sufi way they are met with the reality that God is all that there is. They look at themselves and see a second Simurk standing there. This is that this is that that this the goal is one. No creature's self can be admitted here where all identity must disappear.
