Is There a Clear Standard for Obedience to God?

As the sixteenth century goes on, it's felt that we need more guide lines as to what obedience to god looks like. And so looking at scripture to provide that standard can sometimes become a little bit backward. There certainly are principles for all christian life in scripture, but that doesn't mean there's necessarily going to be a clear answer to your particular question.
