Hood's idea officially was he would take the initiative and march away to the north, and sherman would have to go defendis supply lines. If he didn't, then he'd march to the ohio river and threaten the midwest. But in the meantime, what happens is atlanta falls and is occupied,. Now, the imaginie mark, that's, yes, what he was supposed to do. He suppost to defend the city.
