The Monthly CPI Index Rose 5.6% in the 12 Months to May in Australia
The monthly CPI indicator rose 5.6% in the 12 months to May in Australia, which is a pretty dramatic slowdown from the 6.8% recorded last month. Almost all of the declines are being driven by kind of one category, which is energy and specifically an energy automotive fuel and gasoline. But besides that, that's pretty much it out of all of the categories. So everything else besides clothing, footwear and automotive fuel was up a lot.
