The key to ensuring wearables work will be making sure the data gets to the right clinician and that someone is willing to pay for it. Doctors will be far more likely to adopt new technologies if health insurance will pay them to do so. Only about a third of Americans are in these schemes. So I think it will take a long time to diffuse in the US healthcare system because of the patchwork nature of providers and insurance.
