Men Want to Feel Powerful and Capable in Relationships

There is something triggered within men when a female out earns them or has more status. A woman needs to understand why she doesn't find attraction in someone that isn't successful. I think there would be a natural sense of being emasculated by your partner. Men don't need to feel heard and loved, they need to feel powerful and capable. If you're not the powerful, capable one in a relationship, you can end up feeling resentful.
