Debugging Notes - Should They Be Short Lived?

I find that especially for debugging I like to capture a lot of what was in my notes in the eventual commit message for the fix. That's a really good point. I hadn't thought of commit messages as notes but you're right they totally are. One thing I've done I've sort of taken this idea to the extreme. So I used a tool called mono draw which allows you to draw simple diagrams as ASCII art and so I have a little ASCII art ERD in my commit message. That's incredible. It makes me think of whether the Debugger Notes should be as short lived as I'm making them sound.
