Peter Gibbs played violin with the Philharmonia Orchestra from 1954 to 1956 when he went to play for the London Symphony Orchestra. He recorded several albums in a series of revolutionary recordings of music by composer Henry Purcell, who lived from 1659 to 1695. One of his compositions was reworked into the title music for a clockwork orange. Pete Townsend has cited his work as inspiration for both and can see for miles as well as pinball wizard.
