The Prayer for God's Action
The first petition expresses the desire that god's name be hallowed. We see god's concern for the holiness of his name in places such as ezekiel 36. And so when we call to him as father, we are calling him to act accordingly. The third petition calls for god's will to be done on earth as in heaven. This is a redemptive righteousness, the pattern of heaven worked out in the earth. and the fourth petition turns to our need for bread perhaps an allusion to mannar, our daily bread.
