If a stock falls by 50 percent, it has to grow 200 percent in order to regain its previous value. The big mistake is locking in a 20 percent loss and then going to a product that gives you four or five percent guaranteed. A long term annualized average of between 8 to 12 percent would be the return on an investment like this.
