I'm a confusing one but yeah, definitely excited us. Sometimes when cycling for like seven weeks around Europe and spent like 10 years a day it was great. And I think you have harder expectations to meet as well when you're spending a lot of money. You feel like you have to be really happy the whole time and then there's still going to be things that aren't quite as good which makes you more annoyed. Whereas when you're just grateful for everything, you are literally grateful for everything and it's great.
Alastair Humphreys is the author of my all-time favourite books on the topic of adventure and getting more out of life.
He was awarded the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award for his work. He cycled around the world over four years and has since rowed the Atlantic, ran the Marathon de Sables, and walked across India amongst numerous other adventures.
Perhaps his greatest success, however, is pioneering the concept of micro-adventures, encouraging anyone to experience the outdoors and thrillseeking within an hour of their doorstep.
