Apocalypse Within Biblical Scholarship
The first word of revelation is apocalypsis which is where we get the word apocalypse from and that just means the uncovering or unveiling. There's lots of early Jewish literature that looks kind of like Revelation and so those things get sorted into apocalyptic literature - it's called 'apocalyptic literature' Apocalypse generally does is it gives an account of how god was in control and then shows points to the moment where god is going to establish a better way for God to rule over people. It doesn't look exactly like movies but there are all sorts of other characteristics including they're monstrosities because they're including different ethnicities within them.
