The Importance of Consensus Opinion
Minsky is, has been a tremendous intellectual influence for good reason. He was super smart and very deep. And this doesn't mean that he gets everything right. I think that in order to be super smart and super deep, you need to take risks. And it's not your job to make sure that everybody else is going in a different direction because you could be wrong. There are political forces that create consensus. There are very few rational forces that give you consensus. If the question is simple, then the consensus is justified. But if it's complicated, we will find out that the consensus will probably be different in 10 years from now, which means it is wrong.
