Is the European Union Really Coming to an End With 2008?
I think at every stage of the modern history of Europe is you can't really think about it or understand it without integrating the colonial question. I mean all of the anti immigration politics that emerges in response to the failure of the European neoliberal project kind of resurrects this ideal of the colonial era and of fear and hatred for, you know, cultural and racial and religious others. It's a return in some ways to these kind of colonial cultural and racial demarcations. And this is all I think needs to be understood partly in terms of also the wars, you know the refugee crisis.
