Is That a Good Strategy?

By 2021 at least so before the Russian invasion in Ukraine Germany is sounding more hesitant about the Nord Stream 2 it seems like the American influence has paid off and they are starting to be a bit wary about it. If you're if you view the world in a zero-sum struggle for who's on top then yes this looked like a wrong idea. But still we don't yet have this full explosion as it were but that was a long-term project.
