The Importance of Sexual Positions
In ancient Mesopotamian texts, it was considered submissive for a man to be on the bottom during sex. The reason they don't approve of male same-sex intercourse is not because God told them that's bad, but because it violates this conventionalized social hierarchy of domination. So when we look at what the rationales are for this condemnation, those rationales don't hold anymore.
