I've always loved growing tomatoes. Ever since I was a boy with a tiny little polythene greenhouse because if you give them a bit of protection and just look after them without pampering them too much, they want to grow. It's one of those plants where we just have to not get in the way. If you do get blight on your tomatoes, it means that the foliage will go brown, but so too will the fruits. Old varieties are still good, money maker, and alley county is a famous of mine,. But I really do enjoy beef steak tomatoes.
