The Thatcher Argument Doesn't Work

Just because you're a woman, it doesn't mean that you will necessarily represent the wider interests of women. For instance, Margaret Thatcher is not an obvious representative of a woman's perspective on the world. The election of Barack Obama and similarly of Margaret Thatcher has to be set alongside a much more continuing systematic underrepresentation.
