Is There a Submental Intubation for Osteotomy?

If you're doing some atypical type of osteotomy like a Lefort 2, for example, then consideration can be had for doing a submental intubation. I personally don't have a preference as long as they can pass it through the nose and it's deep enough so that it's not going to prolapse above the cords during the procedure. The simplest thing to do is if you see the bleeder, of course, you can apply a hemoclip or get it with a unipolar boviallectrocaudry. Packing can be quite helpful. And what I tend to do with packing is I will actually soak the packs in the local anesthetic
