In an op-ed in the New York Times, Linker says he does not think criminal charges should be brought against Donald Trump. He argues that prosecution would undermine conservative trusted institutions and lead to a massive increase in political violence. The January 6 committee was trying to provide incontrovertible evidence for indicting Trump, but many of his supporters are just reflexively defending him,. That's also very bad for democracy.
