The Luftwaffe and the Soviets - The Battle of Potomnik

The airfield defense squadron at Potomnik was just literally a handful and it was down eventually to three Meshesmith Bf 109Gs. They were having to cannibalize parts from other 109s that were in the pockets. When they landed on these Pauling landing grounds, often they were just sinking to the ground because their undercarriages were collapsed. And when they land, you've got to get 300 plus tons off and then do something on an airfield that somehow disseminates across the logistics of it becomes incredibly complicated. The Luftwaffe had none of that.
