The Importance of Comparative Politics in Societies

One of the historical articulations of egalitarian ideals focuses on the type of society you would have when you have great inequality between rich and poor. The ways in which their lives are bad can't be separated from the fact that there are other people who are so much better off than they. They are continually dominated as a consequence by their boss, who has this army of people willing to take up their place. These are ways in which great inequality can undermine good social relations.
