McNeil's Trial

McNeil retracted his confession and said he was in a terrible mental state at the time. He denied having anything to do with General Patton's murder. McNeil pleaded not guilty during pretrial hearings, which commenced on 7 August 2006. A forensic biologist testified that she had found and unidentified DNA profile on the shorts of Janelle she had been wearing when she was killed. The DNA profile belonged to a woman.
