I'm fascinated when we start understanding the identity of the culprits and how we read that information like how our T-cells misread this information. I believe there's certainly a diet component because if you take China for instance it's very clear that the frequency of inflammatory bowel disease of type 1 diabetes and even celiac disease has significantly increased since there were major changes in diet in China. There is something about our western culture that somehow enables our immune system to respond to something that should not be considered as dangerous more readily than what used to happen. People are much more aware of the dangers of antibiotics due to early antibiotic treatment in childhood and too many antibiotics that can also alter your immune system.
