The UK LMCs Conference on the Shortfall of GPs
LMCs said there are just too few GPs doing more work with less resource. RCGP pointed to their polling that shows more than two thirds of GPs are worried they can't deliver safe care anymore. The college said it was one of the wonders of modern medicine that people are living for longer, often with multiple health conditions. But this means there is a greater need for the holistic care that GPs are experts in delivering and therefore we need more GPs.
