Jesus's Secret Prayer
The danger, so often is that we want to project an image of our relationship with god designed to maintain and manage our relationship with others. Jesus encouragement of secret prayer is not a denial of the place for corporate prayer, but an emphasis upon orientation. We're not verbally gesticulating at god to get his attention. His eyes are already upon us. He is aware of our needs. Rather, prayer is a turning of our hearts towards god.
