Are Knowledge Workers More Effective Than Athletes?

Trevor and i are both knowledge workers. Our job is learning about stuff, having conversations about it and writing about it. One of your notes says that athletes pursue virtuosity in fundamental skills much more rigorously than knowledge workers do. Why? It's very difficult for knowledge workers to engage in what he calls a deliberate practices. The thing that the athletes and the musicians are doing every day is deliberate practice. We don't quite know how but maybe we can agree on things like being able to collect, synt size and distil information effectively.
