Yes, it's interesting. You're seeing a similar process with a lot of other neokons right now. They should never be hit on the head with reality and then realize that they've got a different position that they should take. When we talk about changing your mind, we need to acknowledge that every tation is, of course, different.
There are a lot of barriers to changing your mind: ego, overconfidence, inertia — and cost. Politicians who flip-flop get mocked; family and friends who cross tribal borders are shunned. But shouldn’t we be encouraging people to change their minds? And how can we get better at it ourselves?
