When the Communist Party got, the German Communist Party did get something like 10 or 15% of the vote throughout the 20th. So there was a continuing appeal of the Soviet ideal. But on the other hand, the left in Germany was unbelievably fractious. The question that the left was divided about was why isn't the working class acting the role assigned to it in the Marxist plot?
