What Are Elliptical Galaxies?

A galaxy is like an egg yolk in a front egg, right? That's essentially what you should picture. And galaxies essentially are then a blend of how big the yolk is and how big the white is. So we actually see this dichotomy when you look at galaxies that the discs look blue because there's lots of hot, young stars form there. The bulge will look redder because that's sort of the older cooler stars that are like the dying embers of a fire.
