The Social Determinants of Health
The social determinants of health show us that health is political. Health is inseparable from politics and is always political, not just politically constructed, but politically used. When health is abstracted as physical and cognitive capacity, it's also used to define who is and is not allowed to define themselves as part of society. And so, for example, the situation that Abby brought up with fracking and lead waterlines is a fantastic one because you can't attack those things if they're true.
