The Importance of Introducing God to Us

Exodus is the defining event by which God told us his name. When we look at Exodus, we're letting God introduce himself to us. At times that will be a comforting affirmation of who we already imagined God to be. For others, that same God might meet you more like a confrontation and disorienting before comforting. It's important to let God introduce himself rather than create and imagine God in our image.
