The GMC's Review of Dr. Aurora's Case
Dr Chan Nagpaul said doctors were perplexed and deeply concerned that this case had ever made it to a full tribunal rather than just being resolved locally. A review would be led by its black and minority ethnic forum chair Professor Rick Balsing and a leading KC Martin Ford to look at how the case was handled. The report as a whole highlighted multiple opportunities that the GMC missed to prevent the case needlessly going to the stage that it did. It found no clear or conclusive evidence or data to suggest that bias thinking affected this case but they also found no evidence or data that would definitively dispel the perception that it was affected by bias.
