Most of the camps were actually known by their american names. The honoi hilton, which is was called howlo, the hanoi hilton, was a name given to it by the prisoners themselves. So there's the zoo, plantation, dog patch, pot holes, alcatraz,. All these places were essentially names given to these camps by the po ws themselves, nicknames to help describe it. And those are the places that they generally brought foreign journalists and others when they were doing any sort of propaganda event.
