The oil and gas industry has spent a combined $1 billion at minimum lobbying to stop climate change regulations. The goal of attribution science is to take the blame for things like climate change off of the individual consumer. In 2013, Richard Heade's research revealed that 90 companies had contributed two-thirds of the world's industrial emissions. We know how much of the coming catastrophe we can blame on each of them.
