How to Tie Labor Union Stuff to Larger Politics
I really think about it on class lines. Joining a union doesn't mean you have a bunch of people ready to take collective action. I want to join this movement because I want to be in solidarity with them. And this is a way to build towards greater power, greater change when you talk about really, really big issues. It's not that these connections are always concrete or obvious, but the fact is that we are connected and that these other workers who are less privileged than the average Google worker put their money aside to say we want to support these Google workers.
