I haven't seen any compelling evidence that people have the wrong amount of trust in science. I think there's probably a ton of overconfidence but from the climate scientists. But it might be reasonable that they're waving it away. So again, if you read Floyd's study, you see that at that time there were 81 Nobel Prize winners who signed a letter saying, we endorse a Biden.
