The Importance of Skepticism in Vaccines

Vaccine skepticism may cause real life harm, he says. People who are depressed hear about suicide in positive or neutral terms that they're more likely to commit and when you reduce that spread, you reduce the number of suicides. There's good data to suggest that when people who are depressed hearing about suicide inpositive or neutral terms can make them more likely to kill themselves. But I think one of the difficulties with those kinds of arguments is very high standard for proving a link between something being expressed and imminent physical harm. And if you show there isn't any causal relationship then it doesn't matter what your view is.
