The Karmic Theory of Recognition

Gautama thinks you are more than a body and a self, you also have manas, or mind. The Niyaya Sutra assigns two distinct roles to the mind. It is both a kind of internal sense and a faculty of attention. Why do we need to postulate an internal sense in addition to the more familiar external senses that you used while hanging out with Gina the crocodile? Gautama asks us to consider a case like this.
